Hey everyone, it’s Jim, welcome to our recipe site. Today, I will show you a way to make a special dish, zobo drink(hibiscus). One of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious. Let us face it, cooking isn’t a top priority from the lifestyles of every person, woman, or child on Earth. The Zobo drink, also known as Hibiscus tea is one of the world most popular beverages and it originated from Nigeria.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can have zobo drink(hibiscus) using 6 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Zobo drink(hibiscus):
  1. Make ready 6 cups zobo leave
  2. Prepare 1 big whole pineapple
  3. Prepare Pineapple peels (the skin of the pineapple)
  4. Make ready 10-15 cups water enough that would cover the zobo leaves
  5. Make ready 5 tablespoonful Ginger (Grated or chopped Ginger)
  6. Prepare Sugar or any sweetener of choice (to taste) (optional)

Zobo drink is the original name from Nigeria, West Africa. The basic essence of this drink is (dry) Roselle leaves or popularly known also as Hibiscus Sabdariffa leaves coming from a species of. Zobo drink, a sweet hibiscus/sorrel drink (also known in West Africa as bissap juice or Sobolo) is an African hibiscus tea made from dry sorrel leaves and with a special twist of mine is a refreshing way. Zobo is made from the the dried calyces (sepal) of the hibiscus plant flower.

Instructions to make Zobo drink(hibiscus):
  1. Rinse the Zobo leaves in sufficient water and set aside.  Wash the unpeeled pineapple thoroughly,peel of the skin cut into chunks and set aside
  2. Place the washed zobo leaves into a pot, add the water, the pineapple chunks and skin, the grated ginger, cloves and any other ingredients you'll like to add.   Cover the pot and let the Zobo leaves boil on medium heat for 30 minutes.    Turn of the heat and leave the pot covered, so that the ingredients can steep a little longer in the hot water and also cool down completely
  3. When the drink cools down,  pour the Zobo leaves and all the contents of the pot through a sieve and into a clean container. note* you can use a clean handkerchief in that regards.
  4. Then add sugar, honey or any sweetener of choice to the strained Zobo drink.  then refrigerate or can drink it right away, topped up with some iced cubes OR  If you'll rather store it for later, pour into an airtight container and chill in the fridge.  Zobo drink stays for up to a week or more in the fridge.
  5. Your Zobo drink can be served with any Nigerian snack like Meat pie, Buns, or any meal of choice. As seen in the picture above I served mine with puff puff😉
  6. This can be added to make the zobo         OR 1 apple,         OR 1 teaspoon alligator pepper,          Or banana or cinnamon while boiling the zobo

Zobo drink is also sometimes called sorrel drink, hibiscus tea, or karkadé (in Egypt and Sudan).

The same holds true for lunches when we usually resort to a can of soup or even zobo drink(hibiscus) box of macaroni and cheese or some other similar product instead of putting our creative efforts into creating a quick and easy yet delicious lunch. You may notice many ideas in this guide and the hope is that these thoughts won’t just get you off to a excellent beginning for finishing the lunch R-UT we all seem to find ourselves in at a certain point or another but in addition to use new things on your very own.
