  1. Make ready 1.5 cup leftover fermented batter (idli/dosa)
  2. Prepare Sauté
  3. Get 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  5. Make ready 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. Prepare 1 inch piece ginger deskinned and grated
  7. Take Urad dal optional
  8. Get Chana dal optional
  9. Take Curry leaves 1 sprig
  10. Make ready 1/4 cup Cilantro
  11. Make ready 2 Green chillies chopped
  12. Take 2 tablespoons Coconut flakes
  13. Get 1 tsp black pepper crushed

Kara Kuzhi Paniyaram is quick & easy South Indian breakfast dish made using leftover idli /dosa batter. This chettinadu receive is best served with chutney. Kuzhi paniyaram is very easy to make if you leftover idli batter at home. I just add the onions, spices etc in the batter and make them with the leftover idli batter.

Instructions to make Painyaram from leftover batter:
  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the ingredients. Roast until golden brown.
  2. Take a paniyaram pan and coat with sesame oil to make it non- stick..
  3. Add the sautéd ingredients to the leftover idli/dosa batter. Mix well. Pour into paniyaram pan and fill up 3/4th the pan. Let it heat.
  4. When the edges start to turn golden; flip the paniyarams and let them con on the other side too for avoid 4 minutes.
  5. Once done, serve with sambar and/ or chutney.

Kuzhi paniyaram is very easy to make if you leftover idli batter at home. I just add the onions, spices etc in the batter and make them with the leftover idli batter. From the leftover batter I had, I made these Masala paniyaram as well as sweet paniyaram. Heat kuzhi paniyaram plate and add ½ teaspoon of oil for each place. Pour a tablespoon of batter in each place and cook closed in low Flip sides, add ½ teaspoon of oil for each paniyaram and fry for another minute.
