The ingredients needed to make Dal pakwan:
  1. Get 1 cup chana dal, soaked for 2 hours
  2. Get 4 cup water
  3. Make ready 5-6 green chilli
  4. Prepare 1 tbsp ghee or oil
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  6. Take 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  7. Prepare 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
  8. Take 1/2 tbsp aamchur / dry mango powder
  9. Make ready 1 pinch asafoetida / hing
  10. Prepare to taste salt
  11. Take 2cup FOR PAKWAN maida/ all purpose flour
  12. Prepare 1/2 tbsp ajwain / carom Seeds or cumin seeds/ jeera
  13. Prepare 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  14. Make ready as needed water for kneading
  15. Prepare as needed oil for deep frying
  16. Prepare 1/2 cup FOR SERVING: green chutney
  17. Take 1/2 cup tamarind chutney
  18. Prepare 2 onion, finely
  19. Take 2 tomato chopped finely

Instructions to make Dal pakwan:
  1. In a pressure cooker, take the dal and water.pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. Add all the spice powder and salt to the dal.simmer for 10 min.In other pan take 2 tbsp oil.add cumin seeds, asafoetida and mix in the dal,add coriander leaves.
  2. For pakwan mix the flour with the cumin seeds, oil,salt and sufficient water and make a dough.Let the dough rest sometime.later divide dough into equal portions.roll out each portion like chapati. Prick the surface with folk or knife.
  3. Heat oil.fry all the pakwans till it turns crisp.To serve, take pakwan add chana dal on top and top with 1 tbsp of green chutney and 1 tbsp tamarind chutney.
  4. Also top with 2 tbsp of chopped onion tomato and coriander.you can add curd too it's optional.enjoy pakwan with chana dal as dal pakwan.
