The ingredients needed to make Basbousa(Semovita cake):
  1. Prepare 3 Cups Semovita
  2. Prepare 1 Cup fresh grated coconut
  3. Prepare 1/3 cup powdered milk
  4. Get 1 Cup melted butter
  5. Get 1/2 Cup Sugar
  6. Get 1 tspn milk flavour
  7. Take 1 tspn baking powder
  8. Prepare 1 , 1/2 Cup water
  9. Prepare Syrup
  10. Take 1 Cup water
  11. Make ready 1 cup sugar
  12. Take 1 lemon

Basbousa (also namoura, revani, hareseh and other names) is a traditional Middle Eastern sweet cake that originated in Egypt, although it is also popular in other countries. From Saad Fayed, I love basbousa with coffee after a good meal. They are just enough to add that extra umpf to a meal.

Steps to make Basbousa(Semovita cake):
  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl
  2. Grease the pan with butter and pour in the batter
  3. Bake till golden brown
  4. Cut in to square Shape, sprinkle some grated coconut at the top, not a fan of sugar so I ate mine like that and really enjoy it
  5. Sugar fans for the syrup: Add water on a pot pour the sugar, let it boil and squeeze the lemon juice and cook for 3 minutes.
  6. Pour in the sugar syrup on it and enjoyyy
