The ingredients needed to make Rava Upma:
  1. Make ready 1 cup Sooji/semolina
  2. Take 3 cups water
  3. Make ready 1 onion chopped
  4. Get 1 carrot chopped
  5. Prepare 1 inch ginger chopped
  6. Prepare 2 green chillies chopped
  7. Prepare to taste Salt
  8. Make ready 1 tsp garam masala
  9. Prepare 1 tsp red chilli powder
  10. Get 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. Prepare 7-8 curry leaves
  12. Make ready 1 tbsp olive oil
  13. Prepare 1 tbsp peanuts
Instructions to make Rava Upma:
  1. Dry roast semolina in a kadai and take it out on a plate. Chop all the veggies.
  2. In the same kadai heat oil and add in mustard seeds, peanuts, onion, ginger and green chillies and let it roast. Then to it add carrot and curry leaves.
  3. When done add water to it and bring to a boil.
  4. To this add roasted suji and keep stirring to thicken the Upma till it leaves the sides of the kadai.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  6. Serve upma hot with coriander chutney and tomato sauce.
