The ingredients needed to make Kaipola(banana cake):
  1. Get 1/2 kg banana (ripe)
  2. Get 5 numbers egg
  3. Get 5 tablespoons sugar
  4. Take 4 tablespoons milk powder
  5. Get 2 numbers cardamom
  6. Take 2 tablespoons ghee
  7. Prepare 4 tablespoons oil
  8. Take 2 tablespoons cashew nut
  9. Take 1 tablespoon raisin

Kaipola, also known as banana cake or steamed plantain cake, is one of the most authentic Malabar dishes. The dish is a sweet combination of egg and banana. Blend together eggs, milk, sugar and cardamom powder in a blender just till combined. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool down.

Instructions to make Kaipola(banana cake):
  1. Cut banana into small cubed peices.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add  banana and fry till golden brown and keep aside
  3. In the same pan  add 1 tbs ghee and fry cashew and raisin and keep aside
  4. In a bowl mix eggs,milk powder,sugar,cardamom and blend well.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a cooker and pour 1/2 of the egg mix.Then distribute fried bananas.Again pour the remaining egg mixture.
  6. Close the pressure cooker with the lid without  putting weight.Lower the flame to the minimum.cook for 10 mins.
  7. Open the lid and put the fried cashews and raisins
  8. Again close the lid for 10 more minutes in the low flame.
  9. Then open the lid,take the cake and cook upside down for 5 minutes.
  10. After that puttoff the flame,keep the lid closed and allow to cool for sometime.
  11. Banana cake  is ready.

Blend together eggs, milk, sugar and cardamom powder in a blender just till combined. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool down.
