The ingredients needed to make Asian Beef and Asparagus:
  1. Take 2 cloves garlic
  2. Get 1 bunch asparagus
  3. Prepare 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  4. Get 1-1 1/2 pounds stir fry beef (could use chicken or pork)
  5. Prepare 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  6. Take 3 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  7. Get 1 tablespoon honey
  8. Take Salt
  9. Take Pepper
  10. Prepare Rice of choice we like jasmine or basamati
Steps to make Asian Beef and Asparagus:
  1. Cook rice per package directions and set aside.
  2. Trim ends off asparagus, then cut into 1 inch pieces. Mince the garlic cloves.
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and a pinch of salt to a medium pot and bring to a boil. Fill a medium bowl with ice water.
  4. Add asparagus to the boiling water and boil for 2-3 minutes, just until tender. Drain and put into the ice water immediately.
  5. Cut your beef into bite sized pieces. Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin and honey.
  6. Heat a drizzle of oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes depending on the size of beef (it should not be fully cooked but just about there), remove and set aside.
  7. In same skillet heat another drizzle of oil over medium high heat, add garlic and ground ginger cooking for 30 seconds. Add the sauce, asparagus and beef back to the skillet tossing until beef is fully cooked, 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Fluff your rice with a fork. Serve beef and asparagus over the rice.

The same holds true for lunches when we often add to a can of soup or even asian beef and asparagus box of macaroni and cheese or some other such product as opposed to putting our creative efforts into making a quick and easy yet delicious lunch.
