In this recipe of Litti chokha, I have shown the process of making oven baked litti , also Pan Litti. Litti Chokha is traditional dish of Bihar. Litti is a wheat ball filled with sattu and other species. It is served with chokha which is made out of potato.

Baked Litti is one of the most well liked of current trending foods on earth. It is easy, it is quick, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. They are nice and they look fantastic. Baked Litti is something which I have loved my whole life.

The ingredients needed to make Baked Litti:
  1. Take 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  2. Make ready 1 cup Sattu
  3. Get 1 Onion (big size, grated)
  4. Get 1 tablespoon Ginger- garlic paste
  5. Take 2-3 Green chillies (finely chopped)
  6. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon Onion seeds
  7. Get 1 teaspoon Carom seeds
  8. Make ready To taste Salt
  9. Prepare 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  10. Prepare 1 tablespoon Mustard oil
  11. Get 2 tablespoons Clarified butter

Roasting on tawa: just flatten the littis and roast them on a hot tawa on a low flame. Litti, along with chokha, is a complete meal originated from the Indian state of Bihar. It is also popular in Jharkhand and parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is a dough ball made up of whole wheat flour and stuffed with gram flour.

Steps to make Baked Litti:
  1. In a mixing bowl, take whole wheat flour, 1/4 teaspoon onion seeds, 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds and salt according to your taste and mix it then prepare a semi-soft dough of it using water and leave it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In another mixing bowl, take sattu, rest of the carom seeds and onion seeds, mustard oil, lemon juice, salt, grated onion, ginger-garlic paste and finely chopped green chillies and mix it well then add 2-3 tablespoons of water in it and mix it.
  3. Now divide prepared dough in equal portions and stuff these portions with sattu mixture.
  4. Heat a cup of salt in a wok, then place a small plate on it and pre-heat it for 10-15 minutes on low-medium flame.
  5. Grease a plate with clarified butter and place the stuffed litti on it and brush these litti with ghee and place it on preheated small plate in the wok and bake it for 30 minutes on the same flame the flip these litti to another side and again bake to for another 5-7 minutes on the same flame then take it out and allow it to cool down.
  6. Baked litti is now ready, serve it with chokha or any chutney of your choice.

It is also popular in Jharkhand and parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is a dough ball made up of whole wheat flour and stuffed with gram flour. Litti is similar Bati from Rajasthan but litti is stuffed with seasoned fried gram flour powder and baked on coal or in an oven. I initially wanted to make only chokha but then decided to make litti as well. Flip the side half way through, you may have to do it.
