  1. Prepare 3 cups flour
  2. Get 1/2 cup sugar
  3. Prepare 1 egg
  4. Take 1/2-2/3 cup milk
  5. Get Pinch nutmeg
  6. Make ready 113 g or 1/2 cup butter
  7. Take 1 tsp baking powder
  8. Make ready 1/4 tsp salt
Steps to make Baked star chinchin:
  1. Preheat oven to 115 degrees celsius, lightly oil a baking tray & place parchment paper or foil on it.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift flour & baking powder together. Add sugar, salt & nutmeg, & mix together.
  3. Add egg & rub in butter into the mixture till it looks like bread crumbs. Add milk bit by bit till a smooth stretchy but not sticky dough is formed.
  4. Flour a flat surface, take out a chunk of dough & roll flat but not thin, about 1cm thick. Using a star cutter or any cutter of choice, cut out the shapes. Repeat method for the remaining dough.
  5. Place the cut out dough on the baking tray individually & bake for about 5minutes or till crisp on the outside. You can also fry instead of baking, your choice.
  6. Remove from the oven & allow to cool. Store in an airtight container or enjoy it right away with loved ones. Happy baking!
