The ingredients needed to make Peppered pomo:
  1. Prepare 1 kg Pomo
  2. Get 1/4 kg Fresh pepper
  3. Take Salt
  4. Make ready 1/2 kg Ata rodo
  5. Make ready 1/4 kg Groundnut oil
  6. Get 2 stock cubes

There are two versions of the Nigerian Kpomo, we have the thin and soft type while the other one is the thick and tough type.. Pour the vegetable oil into a pot or sauce pan and heat up.

  1. Wash the pomo and boil with salt for 30minutes.make sure is soft of not boil till is soft.
  2. Wash the ata rodo and fresh pepper and blend.
  3. Fry all for 5minutes in a hot groundnut oil.
  4. Add 2cksp of water then the pomo,add salt and stock cubes.
  5. Cover and boil for 8more minutes.

Dice the onions and green pepper. Pour the vegetable oil into a pot or sauce pan and heat up. Throw in the green pepper and onion and stir fry until the onion is translucent. Pour in the steamed tomatoe/onion/pepper puree and stir. It is soft, hot, spicy and slightly sticky with a sauce that feels like savoury caramel.

The same holds true for lunches once we usually add to your can of soup or even peppered pomo box of macaroni and cheese or some other similar product rather than putting our creative efforts into creating a quick and easy yet delicious lunch.
