Steps to make Chana Palao:
  1. In a pressure cooker add 4 glass of water, 1 tsp of salt and chickpeas (soaked overnight). Cook them until chickpeas becomes tender.
  2. Strain the chickpeas and save the water for later use.
  3. In a pot heat oil and add sliced onion when it starts to sizzle add whole all spices (anise star;1, cinnamon stick; 1inch piece, cloves; 7-8, black pepper corn; 7-8, black cardamom; 1-2, green cardamom; 2).
  4. Add in ginger garlic paste when it becomes golden then add chickpeas. Cook for two minutes.
  5. Add sliced tomatoes,salt and crushed red chilli and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Now in the mixture add leftover water(boiled chickpeas water) and make it a boil.
  7. Add sliced lemon and green chillies.
  8. Add rice (soaked), mix gently and cook on medium flame. When water becomes dry out, let it cook on steam until rice done.
