The ingredients needed to make Patato Chaman With Tomato Gravy:
  1. Prepare 2 Potato - big(chopped)
  2. Prepare 1 Onion -chopped)
  3. Prepare 5 Tomato - chopped)
  4. Make ready ½ tbsp Mustard seed -(crushed)
  5. Prepare 1 Green chillies - small(chopped)
  6. Get 1 tbs Roasted cumin powder -
  7. Take 1 tbs Fennel seed powder -
  8. Get 1/4 tbs Black pepper powder -
  9. Make ready 1 pinch Dalchini powder -
  10. Prepare 1 pinch Big cardamom powder -
  11. Prepare 1 tbs Kashmiri red chilli powder -
  12. Get to taste Salt - according
  13. Prepare as required Water - depends
  14. Take 1/8 tbs Garam masala -
  15. Get 3–4 Fenugreek leaves - crushed)
  16. Get 1/2 tbs Jaggery -
  17. Get 2 tbsp Oil -
  18. Prepare 1/2 tsp Coconut powder -

Adjust the water in gravy to your liking; gravy will thicken as it will cool. Add garam masala and cilantro, and green chilies this is optional. I serve it with garlic mashed potatoes. Add the tomato paste and bay leaf.

Instructions to make Patato Chaman With Tomato Gravy:
  1. Add 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add onion and saute it for 2 mins and add tomatoes and cover the pan for two minutes or till tomatoes are soft. Off the flame and let it cool.
  2. Dip the potatoes in hot turmeric water for five to ten minutes and let them dry in a cloth or paper napkeen.
  3. Now deep fry the potato slices till golden brown and keep aside.
  4. Now blend the paste nicely and stain it to get smooth puree.
  5. Add one tbsp Oil in another pan and add green chilli and crushed mustard powder and add onion & tomato puree and all other spices except coconut powder.
  6. Boil it for 5 mins at low flame and add fried potato slices/widgets and boil for another 4 minutes to make the gravy consistency thick(upto desired thickness).
  7. Serve in a plate/bowl & garnish with coconut powder.
