  16. Get 1/4 garam masala (optional)
  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  18. Prepare 1/2 turmeric powder
  19. Get 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  20. Take 1 inch pc of jaggery
  21. Prepare 1 big lemon
  22. Make ready as per taste Salt

  25. Prepare 1 cup wheat flour
  26. Get 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  27. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  28. Get 1/4 tsp ajwain/carom seeds
  29. Take 1/2 tsp salt
  30. Prepare 2 tsp oil
  31. Prepare 1/2 cup Water as needed (mostly )

  33. Prepare 1 Onion Chopped
  34. Prepare 1 Tomato Chopped

This recipe consists of spicy whole wheat uncooked roti pieces simmered into dal and cooked to perfection. Dal dhokli has a mild sweet and spicy flavor. Steps to make Dal Dhokli:
  1. Firstly wash toor dal nicely, boil toor dal add by adding 1tsp oil, little salt. In same cooker place bowl add peanut and keep for 5 whistles.
  2. Once dal is cooked, then take a pan add 2-3 tsp ghee and once ghee is hot add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, green chilli,and curry leaves. Further add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and saute until tomatoes turn soft and mushy
  3. Now add in cooked dal, one and half cup of water and mix well adjusting consistency as required. - Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, kashmiri lal mirchi powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala. (Add more water as per your desire consistency)
  4. Now add cooked peanuts, small piece jaggery, salt and lemon juice. And boil it for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Now mix dhokli ingredients and make soft dough.
  6. Roll them same as chapati.
  7. I just roasted them for few seconds to remove raw smell. (This step is completely optional) I was preparing for the first time so just thought of this idea.
  8. Now cut them and drop it in dal. And boil for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped onion, tomatoes and coriander.. Enjoy your hot hot Dal Dhokli!!!
