The ingredients needed to make Meatpies:
  1. Take For the dough:
  2. Get 2 cups all purpose flour
  3. Prepare 1 teaspoon salt
  4. Take 1/8 cup butter
  5. Take 1/2 cup water + 2 tablespoon

  7. Get Choice of meat (i used ½ cup of diced chicken)
  8. Prepare 1 large Irish potatoe(Washed & diced)
  9. Make ready 2 medium sized carrots (washed&diced)
  10. Make ready I small spring onions
  11. Take 1 teaspoon blended scotch bonnet
  12. Take 1/3 cup green peas
  13. Prepare Seasoning (maggi & salt)
  14. Take 1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
  15. Make ready Veg. Oil
  16. Make ready Water
  17. Get Dry thyme

Steps to make Meatpies:
  1. Mix the flour, salt and butter to get a crumbly texture, then add the water to form a dough.
  2. Knead and set aside.
  3. To a pan, drizzle veg oil then add the diced onions and scotch bonnet, add the rest of the ingredients with a little water.
  4. Cover and allow to cook for some minutes.
  5. Note: i used precooked chicken and Irish potatoes so the cooking time wasn't that long.
  6. To form the pie: cut out a handful of dough, roll it out and place on a meatpie cutter, add the filling and seal the edges using water then close.
  7. Or, you roll out the dough, place a round cover to get a prefer circle, use a pizza cutter to cut it out and add the filling then seal using a fork.
  8. Eggwash, then sprinkle dry thyme on the outer surface and bake!
